Chapter 1067

chapter1067

Thalassa never expected Lysander to believe that her escapade with Leopold wasn't an attempt at

elopement.

Amelia staggered backward; her eyes glazed over in shock at Lysander's words. A profound sadness

swiftly morphed into a rigid mask of indifference.

Her body, fueled by impulse and irritation, suddenly weakened, and she collapsed onto the floor. She

landed with a thud that should have hurt, but she felt nothing, staring blankly ahead. Amelia, once filled

with clamor, fell eerily silent, as if all life had been drained from her.

Thalassa watched Amelia crumble. Her heart twisted in sympathy and shared anguish.

Leopold's death was a wound in her own heart that had yet to heal.

The once noisy hospital room quieted down. A heavy blanket of sorrow filled the air, pressed down on

their chests, and made every breath feel like a burden.

Lysander pulled out his phone and dialed Payton Sinclair. "Payton, please come to the hospital and

take Amelia back with you."

Payton had been informed by a servant that Amelia had gone to the hospital from Leopold's villa, which

they were supposed to clean. After finding the birth control pills there, Amelia had stormed off to

confront Lysander, and of course, the servant had relayed this to Payton.

When Payton heard Amelia was out to see Lysander, he knew she was there to cause a scene and

hurried to the hospital.

He was already there by the time Lysander called.

Soon after, Amelia was escorted away by Payton.

The room fell into a brooding silence, but the icy atmosphere that lingered was suffocating, making

Thalassa feel as if she were choking.

Lysander turned around. His penetrating gaze fixed on Thalassa as he strode over to the bedside.

Her eyes met his, deep and abyssal, a place where one wrong step could mean utter destruction.

The predatory danger in his approach made Thalassa's heart pound in fear.

He moved closer. His intimidating presence prickled her skin, sending a wave of panic through her as

she instinctively inched back.

But she was on a narrow hospital bed, an IV hooked to the back of her hand, with no room to retreat.

Lysander's shadow loomed over her, his hand clamping on her chin, his eyes cold and sharp as talons.

"Whose child is it?" he hissed. His voice was laced with barely contained rage.

The tremor in Thalassa's eyes and the flutter of her lashes betrayed the sharp pain in her heart.

Did he doubt her fidelity?

Just moments ago, she had been surprised by his unconditional trust, and now he was full of suspicion

and interrogation.

So, his earlier display of belief was only to appease Amelia.

Thalassa's heart, which had just begun to warm, chilled completely.

She bit back the pain, took a deep breath, and asserted with all the conviction she could muster, "It's

yours!"
