Chapter 1167

chapter1167

David had been exiled to Afriland and hadn't returned, leaving the entire bodyguard squad around

Lysander on edge. They tightened their belts, vigilant and tense.

Lysander, however, didn't dwell on their mistakes. He opened the bag and took out a bowl of creamy

soup. Approaching the bed, he scooped a spoonful and said, "Have some; having enough food will

help you recover soon."

He brought the spoon to her lips, but Thalassa was flustered. She quickly took the spoon and bowl

from his hands, "I can eat by myself. You should eat too. You're hurt. You need the nourishment for a

speedy recovery."

Hearing her concern, Lysander's mood brightened. He didn't insist on feeding her, instead returning to

the table to eat his own bowl of soup.

...

Debby tossed and turned in her bed, unable to find sleep.

Her mind was racing with thoughts of Thalassa.

Had she been burned alive?

Did the grass catch fire?

Did the flames reach Thalassa?

If the grass didn't ignite, Thalassa would survive, merely scared but unharmed as the fire from the

gasoline around the grave died out.

But if it did catch fire, Thalassa would be charred and burned alive.

The image of Thalassa engulfed in flames sent a shiver through Debby, mixing fear and regret within

her.

Yet the thought of Thalassa surviving left her unsatisfied and her thirst for revenge unquenched.

If Thalassa was dead, Debby would be uneasy; if alive, she would be unwilling.

Tangled in this conflict, she tossed and turned and couldn't find rest.

Until she heard noises downstairs in the villa and felt someone coming, and not just one person was on

their way—the commotion was a big one.

Startled, Debby dressed and descended the stairs, only to find her mother speaking with several police

officers.

"You must be mistaken. My Debby was home all night and wouldn't commit murder or arson," Carina

said, her face a mask of disbelief as she calmly tried to explain to the officers.

"The evidence is conclusive. There's no room for argument," an officer said sternly, and turning to see

Debby at the stairwell, he stepped past Carina, approaching her with his badge outstretched, "Debby,

we suspect you're involved in an arson and murder case. Please come with us to assist the

investigation. This is a warrant for your arrest."

Carina, jarred by Debby's sinister demeanor and her question, stepped back; her lips were quivering

with shock as she mumbled, "Debby, what are you thinking...?"

Carina followed, weeping as she watched her daughter being pushed into the police car, "My dear

Debby..." she cried.

Hearing her mother's sobs, Debby felt a sharp pain. Her sinister facade crumbled and revealed sorrow.

Her eyes burned and her tears spilled over. Reаd at Dramanovеls.com

Before getting into the car, she looked back at Carina and said, "Mom, go back. Don't be sad. Pretend

you never had me."

With that, she turned and boarded the police car without looking back.
