Chapter 1224

chapter1224

Lysander's gaze was as chilling as a winter storm, sending an involuntary shiver down Thalassa's spine

as she inched backward, her eyes wide with fear.

She had merely spoken the truth, unable to fathom what had suddenly ignited Lysander's wrath.

His eyes were as dark and unfathomable as the ocean depths, sharp as a rapier's edge, bore into her

without a word, yet their piercing intensity spoke volumes more than any speech could.

An oppressive aura enveloped Thalassa, her heart pounding faster with each passing second.

Cornered against the car door, she felt trapped with no more room to retreat.

Lysander's arm shot forward, and Thalassa's heart skipped a beat. Instinctively bracing to evade, she

was caught off guard as his large hand clasped her wrist, pulling her firmly back into her seat.

"What's there to fear?" His voice filled the confined space of the car.

Thalassa's shoulders tensed, her eyes darting to his hand gripping her wrist. His fingers were long and

well-defined, his skin pale and cool to the touch—just like him, aloof and silent.

She had intended to wriggle free, but the memory of Lysander effortlessly snapping Callum's wrist

halted her movements. A chill crept up her spine, spreading a wave of dread throughout her body.

Thalassa, frightened and on edge, managed a timid, "Nothing... nothing at all."

Did he not realize what she feared?

With just one sentence from her, the atmosphere around him had turned icy, the kind of cold that could

freeze a person solid.

It was intimidating and bone-chilling.

Lysander released her wrist and averted his gaze. He resumed his rigid posture, focusing on the road

ahead as if nothing had transpired.

Thalassa cautiously shifted, settling into her seat, wary of making any sudden movements that might

provoke him again.

He was an enigma, unpredictable and inscrutable.

The mood in the car, already heavy from Lysander's sudden ire, grew even more oppressive.

Though Lysander had returned to his original posture, the coldness emanating from him had not

dissipated, making the already cramped space feel even more suffocating.

Thalassa remained silent, her heart still racing.

The tension lasted until the car pulled up to the Royal Estates.

The driver's voice broke the silence, "Mr. Sinclair, Ms. Everhart, we've arrived."

Thalassa didn't rush to open the door, fearful of upsetting Lysander again. She cautiously glanced at

him, waiting for him to exit first.

Lysander's piercing look sent a jolt of panic through her, just as it had before.

He held back whatever storm brewed within, merely glancing at Thalassa before stepping out of the

car.

She followed suit. Lysander was striding ahead with long, confident steps and Thalassa scurried

behind.

"Daddy, Mommy, you're back! Look what we built—a house! Now the big bad wolf can't get us," Elowen

said, her round face beaming as she pointed at the block structure. Read at

"Yes, it's very sturdy. Daddy, Mommy, me, and my brothers and sisters can all live in it," Elowen said

with a nod, her voice sweet and mature.
