Chapter 1255

chapter1255

Lysander was at the wheel, silent as the grave, while Thalassa felt it best to keep her own counsel too.

She gazed out of the window, watching the world slip by in reverse.

Her mind was a jumble, too preoccupied to take in the passing traffic. It was only when the car came to

a stop that she realized they were at Star Harbor Villa.

He had brought her to her mother's place.

Coming back to herself, Thalassa turned to Lysander. The car was parked, but he was still gripping the

steering wheel with a steely resolve, his gaze fixed straight ahead, his aura icy.

“There’s a hole in the screen, plain as day for all to see,” he said suddenly, his voice a low thrum.

Thalassa was taken aback, her mind reeling.

He was saying there was a hole in the screen—a hole that meant even if she was behind it, she could

still see what was happening in front. He was implying that she was lying!

He still believed she had deliberately dropped the prop on his head to harm him!

Thalassa was stunned, scrambling to remember and picturing the screen in her mind. Then it hit her.

The design on the screen included a cell phone image with an empty screen—cut out to make a

statement about the boundless content within, a marketing gimmick suggesting a world of color and

depth inside the device.

She hadn’t paid it any mind at first, not until Lysander brought it up, and that’s when she realized the

significance of that detail.

Thalassa was so shocked she momentarily lost her grasp on speech.

“Are you so desperate for freedom?” Lysander’s cold voice continued.

His icy, penetrating stare was fixed on Thalassa, his handsome face set in a dark scowl.

Thalassa’s shock shattered, taking her heart with it.

In Lysander’s eyes, she was so eager for liberty, so desperate to escape from his hold that she would

consider taking his life!

“I didn’t mean to. It was Susan who asked me to adjust the rig, to test its load-bearing capacity. I had

no idea an accident would happen.”

Thalassa’s voice was heavy with effort. She truly didn’t know he was coming, nor expected the prop to

fly his way.

Yes, she yearned for freedom, but she had never wished for his death.

He was the father of her four children, the father of the child she was carrying. How could she wish him

dead?

No matter how much she resented or blamed him, she could never let her children lose their father.

Lysander closed his eyes, taking a deep breath, his voice icy as ever, “Get out!”

Thalassa hesitated, then pushed the door open and stepped out.

As soon as she closed the door, the black Rolls-Royce sped away.

Lysander was convinced she had intentionally thrown the prop at him, aiming to kill him.

No explanation would change his mind.

Once a rift forms, trust is hard to come by.

It wasn't until Lysander’s car had vanished from sight that Thalassa gathered herself and walked back

into the house. Updated at Draмаnоvеls.cоm

“Mom!” she called out with concern.

“Mom, what’s wrong?” Thalassa hurried over, sitting beside Evelyn, her worry evident.
