Chapter 1261

chapter1261

"Evelyn, how about you order for us?" Callum said as he passed the menu to Evelyn.

Evelyn didn't decline. She grabbed the menu and casually ordered a few dishes. While they were

waiting, she mentioned she had a stomach ache and excused herself to use the restroom.

At the table, it was just Thalassa and Callum left alone.

In the past, this kind of situation wouldn’t have fazed Thalassa in the slightest, but Callum had just

confessed his feelings for her. Because of that revelation, Thalassa couldn't help but feel awkward in

front of him. She had never considered the possibility that Callum might like her.

She took a sip from her drink, trying to mask her discomfort.

"Debby’s sentence got reduced. Thank you." Callum suddenly broke the silence.

Thalassa put down her glass. "Don't mention it. You helped me out big time in the past, so I owed you

one," she replied, making it clear that she viewed this as settling a debt.

Callum, sharp as ever, got the hint. His smile faltered for a moment but quickly returned. "Helping

Debby out was worth breaking my wrist for," he said, lifting his glass to take a sip.

The conversation stalled, and the atmosphere grew a bit tense. Thalassa kept drinking to conceal her

embarrassment.

Fortunately, the waiter interrupted them soon by bringing their dishes. "Enjoy your meal," he said

politely.

Thalassa noticed there were five dishes instead of the four they ordered. She called out to the waiter,

"Excuse me, we only ordered four dishes. Why are there five? Is there a mistake?"

She remembered Evelyn ordering, and there were definitely only four dishes requested.

The waiter, who was about to walk away, came back with a smile. "The extra dish was ordered over the

phone by someone for your table."

Ordered over the phone?

Who knew they were dining here and could order for them?

Thalassa was puzzled and looked at the five dishes. Four were what Evelyn had ordered, but the extra

dish was a plate of deep-fried salty fish, which gave off a pungent smell.

Who would be so nosy as to order them a salty fish?

Curious, Thalassa asked the waiter, "Can you tell us who made the order?"

"It was an anonymous call, for Callum Gordon," the waiter replied.

For Callum?

Thalassa glanced at Callum, who looked just as confused as she did. Clearly, he had no clue what was

going on.

Was someone insinuating that Callum was a 'salty fish' who would never succeed?

"No, thank you," Thalassa said.

"Mr. Gordon, have you managed to rub someone the wrong way here?" Thalassa inquired.

Thalassa shrugged. "That’s curious then." Updated at Draмаnоvеls.cоm

Pickled food?

That term struck a nerve with Callum, and he grasped the meaning behind the salty fish in an instant.
