Chapter 1297

chapter1297

Thalassa gripped Ethan's hand, urgency etched across her face as she attempted to rush him out of

the ward to tend to the burn on his back.

Just as they reached the threshold, a formidable presence loomed over them.

She nearly collided with the figure stepping through the door. Halting abruptly, Thalassa lifted her gaze

and met the piercing eyes of Zephyr.

Dressed in a button-up with short sleeves, his attire was traditional with a serious edge. Despite his

years, an aura of authority seemed to radiate from him.

His eyes were sharp as a hawk's, giving Thalassa a cursory glance before settling on her hand

intertwined with Ethan's.

His gaze darkened and turned icy.

Feeling her heart sink under that intense stare, Thalassa hadn't even processed her discomfort when

another man showed up. Tall and foreboding, he wore a crisp black shirt, exuding an air of nobility and

depth.

It was Lysander!

The sight of him immediately made Thalassa's tense. She realized she was still holding Ethan's hand

and quickly let go as if it were a hot potato.

She averted her gaze to the wall, unable to meet the eyes of either Zephyr or Lysander.

Ethan was the first to speak up, “Susan's family just had an accident with some boiled water that spilled

on me. Thalassa just wanted to get me to a doctor.”

Perhaps Zephyr's intent was indecipherable to them, but Lysander's icy, oppressive gaze was not lost

on Ethan.

Lysander had never truly cared for any woman other than Thalassa. His possessiveness over Thalassa

was so intense it bordered on the extreme.

A mere lingering glance from another man at Thalassa was enough for him to wish he could gouge out

the offender's eyes, let alone someone touching her hand.

Zephyr gave Ethan a cursory glance and, continued into the room without a word.

Thalassa quickly stepped aside to clear the way.

"Oh Mr. Sinclair, thank you so much for coming. I'm sure Susan will recover much faster with you

coming to visit," said Bruce, whose face had twisted from ferocity to a sycophantic smile upon their

arrival.

Thalassa felt a wave of disgust. She couldn't understand how a societal leech like Bruce, who had

ruined countless women and tormented so many families, could still be thriving.

Susan had been boiling with rage, ready to unleash a torrent of curses on Thalassa and even

considering using a broom to beat her senseless.

Her eyes had locked on the broom leaning against the wall, her impulses gearing up to act, when

Zephyr and Lysander appeared.

In an instant, her anger and ferocity vanished, replaced by a display of tears and a pose of victimhood.

Susan spoke while deliberately showing them her swollen cheek marked by distinct handprints,

resembling a mountain range stamped onto her face. New ch?pter avаilable o? Dr?мanоvеls.cоm

It was only logical that the Sinclairs would not stand by idly after Susan had saved Lysander,

considering someone might be targeting him with ulterior motives.
