chapter2115
Denise looked at Magnus' handsome face. Suppressing her inner turmoil, she shook her head. "Let's forget it. I really don't plan on getting married."
Moreover, she felt that she and Magnus were not meant to be together.
Even though Magnus was in dire straits right now, he still had a sister who was a CEO-he wasn't in the same class as her.
"Didn't I say we don't have to register our marriage? Anyway, you need to make Mr. and Mrs. Laney happy, don't you?" Magnus uttered.
Denise hesitated for a long time before asking, "Do you like me?"
Magnus froze.
Denise looked at him and enunciated, "If you like me and want to be with me, you can say it directly. If this is just to help a friend, then I think we should forget it."
Based on the time they spent together, she felt that Magnus was a good person- at least he was nice to her.
It took Magnus a long time to return to his senses. Instead of lying, he nodded. "Yes, I like you."
His face was flushed as he continued, "To be honest, I don't know how I ended up liking you, but now I just want to treat you well. In all my life, this is the first time I've wanted to please someone so much."
Upon hearing a definite answer from him, Denise remained silent for a long time before finally saying, "Then let's be together."
"Really?" The joy and surprise in Magnus' eyes were apparent.
Denise nodded. "As long as you're okay with dating me. Just as you said, we won't register our marriage. If either of us regrets it later, we can leave at any time."
She actually liked Magnus a little and wanted to try having a new relationship. "Okay," Magnus replied. Unable to contain himself any longer, he hugged Denise.
The sudden embrace stunned Denise.
It had been a long time since anyone had held her like that.
However, she was still anxious, unsure of how long their relationship would last.
After all, her first and only relationship had started out so well, but in the end, they were forced apart by the harsh reality.
That was why Denise agreed not to register their marriage so that Magnus could leave directly if he ever regretted it.
"By the way, you don't mind that I have huge debts, do you?" Magnus asked.
"Of course do, but didn't you say I don't have to bear your debts since we won't register our marriage? Denise answered truthfully
could not possibly handle Magnus' astronomical debts.
"Yes, you don't have to bear my debts. If the creditors find me, just say you're my colleague. Don't worry about it, Magnus said, secretly
resolving to work hard to earn
money. He wanted to make a comeback and give Denise and her parents a stable life.
Later on, Cecilia received a call from Magnus, who thanked her and told her that he and Denise were now together.
"Cecilia, Denise is a great woman. Once I've resolved my crisis, I'll bring her to meet you. She said she wants to thank you in person," Magnus uttered.
Cecilia pondered for a long time before replying, "You don't need to thank me. Treat her well, and also, make sure you don't owe people money anymore."
"I know. Don't worry, I've really changed now, and I will work hard," Magnus promised.
He then stammered, "Um, Cecilia, could you help me pay off those debts I owe? This time, I promise be a good person. I'll pay you back slowly once I earn more money. You know that my creditors aren't good people. They won't give me much time. I still want to be with Denise."
At that, Cecilia knew some of Magnus' thinking still hadn't changed.
