"Do her parents know about this?" Nathaniel asked again.

"I'm sure they don't," Cecilia replied.

Nathaniel was silent for a moment, then he said, "Don't get too involved in this matter."

He knew Kingston and Phoebe parents had been rushing Chelsea to get married, but that didn't mean they wouldn't accept an orphan as their son-in-law.

"I know," Cecilia replied.

She and Chelsea were just friends, so she wouldn't interfere in the latter's private life.

Unable to fall back asleep, Cecilia wanted to get up.

Nathaniel embraced her, unwilling to let her go. "Let's sleep a little longer."

"I can't sleep anymore." Cecilia pried his hand away. "Let me get up; I need to go to work."

"Cecilia, did you receive the invitation?" Magnus asked.

"Both you and Nathaniel must come the day after tomorrow," Magnus exhorted.

"I will come, but I don't know if my husband can make it," Cecilia said.

"Uh... Okay, it's fine as long as you can come. Nathaniel is busy with work, so it's fine whether he comes or not," Magnus replied.

Cecilia ended the call just as Nathaniel came downstairs.

Denise was genuinely gullible. She believed almost everything Magnus said and
