chapter2134
Jocelyn was first to greet Cecilia. "Hi, Ms. Smith."
Cecilia nodded and walked up to them with Jonathan and Elliot.
The two children greeted them politely, "Hi, Mr. Hayes and Ms. Wright."
"Hi." Jocelyn's usually serious face broke into a gentle smile.
Yannick also smiled. "It's only been a short while since I last saw you, and both of you have grown much taller."
Yannick had met the two children a few times with Calvin when they were abroad, so he was quite familiar with them.
The children also felt close to him.
"Mr. Hayes, when are you going to have a child, too? We went to the hospital with Mommy today and saw Ms. Kennedy's baby. He's so cute," Elliot asked, blinking.
At the mention of the word "child," Yannick's and Jocelyn's expressions changed slightly, but they recovered quickly.
Yannick cleared his throat. "You have to go with the flow for this kind of thing. It can't be rushed."
"Oh, I see." Elliot seemed to understand, and he nodded. "Mr. Hayes, then you and Ms. Wright must work hard. When you have a baby, remember to invite Jon and me over."
"Sure," Yannick replied, feeling somewhat stressed after the brief conversation.
Cecilia asked, "Are you two here for something?"
"We happened to come here for a business meeting," Jocelyn replied.
Cecilia couldn't ask what kind of meeting it was, so they parted ways following the exchange of a few pleasantries.
Jocelyn got into the car with Yannick, feeling heavy-hearted.
Elliot's words from just now made her feel slightly at a loss.
There was no way they could have a baby when she and Yannick had yet to consummate their marriage.
In fact, it wasn't that Yannick was incapable; she was the one being resistant to it.
Yannick looked out the car window at the receding figures of Elliot and Jonathan, and he couldn't help but lament, "Children are truly adorable."
Jocelyn saw the hope in his eyes.
Feeling guilty, she lowered her head slightly. "I'm sorry."
Yannick looked at her in puzzlement. "What's wrong? Why are you suddenly apologizing to me?"
Jocelyn clenched her hand. "I can tell you like children very much, but I—"

Jocelyn's face flushed at his remark, and she ducked away from his hand, turning her head to look out the window.
The inside of the car became so quiet that they seemed to be able to hear each other's breathing clearly.
Yannick was about to move closer to Jocelyn when a ringtone sounded at an inopportune moment.
It was Jocelyn's phone.
She quickly picked up the phone and saw that it was a call from Nicholas.
After thinking for a moment, she answered it.
"Hello," she said.
"Is this Jocelyn Wright? Your boyfriend is drunk. Do you have time to come over?"
A stranger's voice came from the other end of the line.
Why is this person holding Nicholas' phone? And what did he mean by boyfriend?
Jocelyn glanced at Yannick and then replied to the stranger, "You must be mistaken. I don't have a boyfriend."
The stranger uttered, "I'm not
mistaken Your number is the first one in his contact list. You should hurry over. He's terribly drunk, and we won't be responsible if anything happens to him.
